When Kim first contacted me, she explained that she was wanting something a little different for her big day. Instead of having a huge traditional wedding, she wanted something a little smaller and intimate out on the beach in Tofino. I suspect no one person would say this was a bad idea, except for one detail; she wanted to do it mid-September. For anyone not familiar with Tofino, weather on the west coast can be quite unpredictable even in the middle of the summer. When I inquired about her “Plan B”, she replied with “rain or shine, we are getting married on the beach”. Awesome! All I can say is that she lucked out. About 10 minutes gastrointestinal from Pacific Sands Resort as we drove in, the rain stopped. As we left, about 5 minutes from the resort, the rain started again, she was that lucky. I think deep down Kim is a risk taker and as a result we managed to create some fantastic images. Anther thing that Kim decided to do was a “first look”. This is where the bride and groom see each other prior to the ceremony. While not for everyone, it allows couples to shed the nerves and when combined with the photography it allows us to make love-filled images.
Matt and Kim, we had a great time with you on your big day. Thank you for including us in your big day and we hope you all the best in the future.
